Kevin Collins, a secondary school teacher with underage coaching qualifications set up as a Just 4 Fun Kids Camp company in February 2012 He ran a successful multi-activity summer camp in Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai in July 2012. The positive feedback received from the parents encouraged the expansion of the camp into the larger Munster area in the following years.  We wanted to share the fun!

The program receives input from various qualified people in their knowledge areas. Jennifer O’ Leary, Physical Education teacher and Cork Camogie Sports Star, Dr. DJ Collins, Ph.D. in Biomechanics in Human Movement and Early Childhood Motor Skills Development and Josephine Collins, Childcare Development Studies.

The reality is that a lot of children are in front of computers and using game consoles daily meaning they spend less time being active. Through our research, we have devised programs to achieve maximum activity and enjoyment. Our program will keep them constantly engaged and on the move.

We are continually researching child activity development so that we can update our programs to enhance the children’s experience. We have structured our programs so that they will cater to all age groups. This is why we have produced two different activity lists, depending on the age group.

The continuous interaction of our leaders with the children helps to create a rapport and build trust. With this in mind, the staff is handpicked through an interview process while also verifying that all are Garda vetted. We monitor the staff’s progress in their roles after they have completed our mandatory staff training to ensure full competency. Encouragement and support are at the forefront of our staff’s daily duties. All this ensures that we have the best working for us; the best for your children.

In 2016 Just 4 Fun School Tours was formed.  We felt that more could be done for children to get a feel-good factor about themselves while still having fun, our initiative #Kidshelpingkids was then rolled out to the schools. CMRF Crumlin came on board by endorsing Just 4 Fun School Tours with their Logo.  In 2 years the tours are now nationwide.

How our tours work and with Crumlin benefiting is, from every child’s fee we receive Just 4 Fun School Tours donate €2 to the CMRF on the school’s behalf. Our initiative is #Kids Helping Kids. The enjoyment and feel-good factor that the school tour children get from knowing that they are helping the sick children in Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children Crumlin cannot be underestimated. Since the launch of our partnership, we have helped to donate €55,000 to CMRF Crumlin.
